Q1. What is a Pashmina?

Ans. Pashmina is fine cashmere made from the hairs of from Himalayan Mountain Goat from Asia. In sprint time every year the mountain goat – a domesticated animal sheds its fine hair, which is combed out and spun into Cashmere yarn that is then weaved into wraps/scarves. This is called Pashmina Cashmere. For details on our Pashminas please see “What is Pashmina?” Page. We have tried our best to tell you everything about our Pashminas on this page.

Q2. What is a Ply Rating of a fabric?

Ply is the number of strands of either Cashmere or Silk put together to make a thread before weaving it into a fabric. A 2 Ply rating means 2 strands of cashmere put together in a Cashmere thread. A 3 Ply rating means, one 2 Ply thread and one 1-Ply thread weaved across to make the fabric. A 4 Ply fabric would mean – two 2 Ply threads weaved together to make a fabric. Home of Pashmina offers only 3 and 4 Ply rating fabrics.

Q3. What is better – a Pure Pashmina or a Silk Blended Pashmina?

Ans: It all depends on a personal choice. Both – the Pure Pashmina and a Silk Blended Pashmina have good amount of Cashmere in them to keep you warm. Some people like to go with the Pure Pashmina Cashmere for its soft and warm feel and lightweight and some like a bit of luster on their Pashmina and prefer a silk blend. The silk used by Home of Pashmina is also of very fine quality and stands its ground on luxury on its won. Our 80/20 blends give you best of both i.e. lightweight and extreme softness of Pure Pashmina and slight luster of silk. We have lot of variety in Pure and Silk Blends for you to select more than one and enjoy the warmth and luxury of Pashminas.

Q4. Why is your Pashmina so light weight?

Ans: Cashmere thread is prized for its lightweight and warm soft feel. The lightweight of Pashmina Cashmere is its unique and valuable property. It keeps you warm without adding weight around your neck, so you can wear it many forms and for long time - a scarf, a wrap or just hang it around your arms. True Cashmere is lightweight so you can carry it around easily. A 6 Oz of cashmere hair can keep a goat warm in winters at 20,000 feet, we are sure you will find it quite warm and luxurious too.

Q5. How is Pashmina made?

Ans: Every Spring the owners of Pashmina goats (Capra Hircus) comb the fine Cashmere hair from their underbelly. After a through cleaning and combing process this hair is hand spun into a Cashmere Yarn. This yan is then weaved into a fabric on handlooms in pure form or in a slight blend of silk. For some designs the yarn is dyed before weaving and for some designs the fabric is dyed after weaving. The fabric edges are then hand knotted into 3 or more inch long tassels. More tassels do not mean better Pashmina. It all depends on the thickness of the thread, thicker thread lends more tassels and thinner thread lends itself to less tassels. Both are equally good and give a nice finish to the fabric. Prints if required are then applied using screen-printing technology. Pashminas should be cleaned using Dry Cleaning procedure only as it is Cashmere.

 Q6. How do I care for my Pashmina?

Ans: Pashmina is a soft fabric and needs good care. If cared well, it will last for a long time and give you comfort.

- To clean, your Pashmina we suggest Professional Dry Clean Only.

- Never Put your Pashmina in washing machine or dryer.

- Never take an iron directly to your Pashmina.

- Do not leave your Pashmina out in sun to dry.

- Do not store Pashmina in a damp place.

- While storing, use cedar blocks or mothballs.

- Be careful of anything that might stain your Pashmina such as lipstick or perfume.

- Be careful of what you wear. Sharpe objects like pocket books, pens, belt clips may damage your Pashmina.

Ans: Pashminas from Home Of Pashmina contain True Cashmere from Kashmir. Our Pashmina scarves are very popular in the European and Other markets and have stood the test of time for last 10 years. We have subjected our Cashmere to scientific tests to make sure we use only True Cashmere and we are transparent about our testing methodology. True Pashmina Cashmere is rare and expensive. This is the reason; we cannot sell Pashminas at a low price even if it is wholesale. Please feel free to test our Cashmere with any available testing methods. You will not find imitations here. Make sure you take care of your Pashmina, use dry clean only to clean it and store it in a dry place.

Q11. How do I create an account?

Ans: When you have selected your Pashminas and click on Checkout, you will be given a chance to create a new account or login using an existing account. Once you fill the form presented there, we will create a new account for you and keep it safe in our CRM database. You can use your existing account for all shopping on HomeOfPashmina.com website from there on.

 Q12. What if I forgot my password?

Ans. We have your information including your e-mail address in our database. If you forget your password, click on the link that says “Forgot Password” and give us your e-mail address that you used to create the account. We will send you a mail to recreate your password.

Q13. Will you store my credit card information in my account?

Ans: No, to maintain PCI-DSS compliance we never store any credit card information in our database. Your credit card information is used only to authorize your purchase via Authorize.net’s secure payment gateway at the time of purchase.

Q14. How do I change my address and other information in my account?

Ans. Once you are logged in, you will see a link to edit your profile. Use this link to change and save new information about your account.

Q15. What is your shipping policy?

Ans. We offer Free Standard Shipping on all our orders. We will ship using USPS with tracking facility and return confirmation so we are sure where your package is at all times. Free standard shipping is applicable to packages shipped within 48 contiguous states of U.S.A. Additional shipping surcharge of $5 will be added to items shipped outside of 48 contiguous states of U.S.A but within the country of U.S.A. For international shipping, standard shipping rates and times of USPS apply. We do not ship to P.O Boxes. Q17. When will my order ship?

Ans. We try to ship all orders within 24-48 hours. Depending on the type of shipping chosen, you should receive your order in 48 Hours + Shipping time. If you ordered on Saturday, there may be an extra days delay in shipping.

 Q18. What is your Return Policy?

Ans. We offer 30-day genuine return or exchange policy on all orders. If for some reason you are not satisfied with your Pashmina, please call us at 1-800-757-2297 and will give you return shipping address and details. Q19. What if I got a wrong product – I ordered something different?

Ans. We try our best to match your order and the shipped item. Even after that for some reason if you received wrong product shipped we will correct the mistake entirely at our expense. Every product that we stock has a SKU code and color label on it. If you feel you got a wrong color or SKU code product, please call us at 1-732-705-3450, we will verify our mistake and correct it. If product shipped was right as per the order and you are not satisfied with the color, we will give you an exchange only as per our exchange policy as on Terms and Conditions  page.

 Q20. Do you Offer Gift Packaging?

Ans. Yes, we offer Gift Packaging as an option while checking out from the shopping cart. We charge nominal cost for gift packaging and shipping the gift box. We charge the actual cost of packaging and shipping a gift box and do not earn any profit like Handling Fees etc. We use fully recyclable gift boxes and paper to maintain eco-friendly approach of our business. Q21. What if I have a large order? Do I get any discounts?

Ans. Pashmina Cashmere is expensive. We try to maintain our costs very low to give you high quality materials at a decent price. Please call us at 1-732-705-3450 for your large order and we will try our best to give you a good deal. From time to time we ourselves keep coming up with discounts and hot deals on our website. Please keep checking for new deals on our website.

Q22. Do I pay Sales Tax on my Order?

Ans. We are a New Jersey based company and do not charge sales tax on Neckwear items like scarves. You will not be charged any sales tax on any order.

Q23. How do I check my order status?

Ans. Click on the MY Order link on the top on our website and using your login information and order number you will be able to see your order status.

Q24. I never received my order?

Ans. If you have not received your order after 48 hours + shipping time + 2 days (any additional delay), please send us a e-mail at Contact@HomeofPashmina.com and give us your order details – Name, date order placed, order number if you have it. We will look into it and send you a message to resolve the issue. We use USPS for all our shipping. All issues will be resolved as per their policies and terms.

 Q25. How to I change or cancel an order?

Ans. Go to My Order Page, find your order and click Edit or Cancel. The order can be changed or cancelled if we have not yet processed it. If Order has been processed or shipped, we cannot change or cancel the order.

 Q26. What will the charge appear as on my credit card statement?

Ans. Home of Pashmina is an Ecowindward LLC company’s brand. All charges may show up “EcoWindward LLC” on your credit card statement.

Ans. Your credit card will be charged on the day we ship your items.
